9 Απρ 2020 · I have seem a few idler wheels on the bay where people are just installing O rings to a machined wheel, but this cant work as O rings are not evenly round, the only way is to actually machine installed tyre. I found too that before machining it slipped and ran slow anyway.

22 Σεπ 2005 · It's possible that the rubber tyre of the idler has gone hard; in which case replacement is the only option - but there is a company somewhere which will 'retyre' idler wheels; I can dig out their details if all else fails.
18 Ιαν 2021 · Trying One Method To Restore Garrard Idler. by wolfie » 18 Jan 2021 23:16. I’ve read that hardened idler wheels can be restored by covering the rubber idler wheel in DOT 3 brake fluid. So here I’m documenting my attempt to try this. WARNING: This utilizes very High Tech procedures!
18 Μαρ 2022 · If it doesn't work, the V.O.M. new idler rebuild is the best way (it will have new rubber), provided it's done correctly, and most of the time the secondary market idlers sold as parts are ok too. Occasionally, there are new ones floating around too.
