1 Ιουν 2012 · We sampled turtle populations using baited hoop nets (66 sites) and basking traps (3 sites), and captured turtles by hand opportunistically in terrestrial habitat.
For freshwater turtle populations, baited hoop-net traps are one of the most commonly used sampling tools (Lagler 1943, Conant and Collins 1998, Thomas et al. 2008). Hoop nets are convenient because they are collapsible, relatively easy to deploy, and usually require only one person (e.g., Brown et al. 2011b).
2 Απρ 2006 · Hand made turtle hoop nets. Anyone use hoop nets for trapping turtles. When I lived in Michigan we would take hand made hoop nets and place 1x2 wood between the hoops to spread the net out. Then we place a rotten piece of carp in a wire screen basket and suspend it from the top of the net.
