Our Hoop-style Turtle Traps are made of nylon #15 webbing, with 3 galvanized steel hoops. Each net is approximately 6' long and 30" in diameter. The traps are available in 30" with 2" mesh, 30" with 3" mesh (this one is made with #18 twine), and 30" with 4 mesh (this is one is made with #18 twine).

Hoop net users statewide will want to review new hoop net regulations that went into effect on October 31, 2022, especially since the recreational Dungeness crab season opened during a trap restriction this past Saturday. Hoop nets are often used instead of traps during a trap restriction.

The WCS™ Collapsible Turtle Trap is built to last and features pressure-treated spreader bars. The trap itself, including the netting, is dipped to preserve against wet conditions. The trap measures 24” x 24” x 48” and is constructed from spring steel “D-hoops” and 2” mesh netting.
This small size trap uses hoops which are 30 inches wide and the net is a fine 1 inch wide mesh and is 6 ft. long. Bait is placed inside the netting and should be suspended or attached to the center hoop. The traps are then secured in water just at the surface and offshore with stakes.
