The Turtle Island Park lies 40 km north of Sandakan in the Sulu Sea off Sabah’s east coast. It encompasses 1,740 hectares which include the three islands of Pulau Selingan, Pulau Bakungan Kecil and Pulau Gulisan, together with the surrounding sea and coral reefs.
We booked our trip directly with Crystal Quest. The boat leaves for turtle island in the morning and you get to spend your day at leisure on the island. We went snorkelling i the sea. In the evening the mother turtle came and we had a close up view of her laying her eggs (73 in total).

It was a beautiful island to relax on in the day and the turtle experience in the evening was fantastic. A once in a lifetime experience! The food and accommodation was quite basic, but it was good enough. Thoroughly recommend! Laying eggs. Very basic accommodations. If you expect to be pampered, don't.
