Benefits you have earned as a Texas Veteran or Military Member: In 1946 the Texas Veterans Land Board (VLB) was established to administer benefits exclusively for Texas Veterans. Since then, the VLB has funded more than 200,000 loans for Veterans and Military Members in Texas.
All veteran applicants requesting VLB financing are subject to VLB credit approval. A down payment of not less than 5% of the minimum amount, as listed on our website, will be required at closing. As a condition of financing the VLB may require an additional down payment.
LAND FOR SALE - VETERANS. A Veteran or Military Member whose bid is accepted may apply for a VLB Land Loan at a 7.25% interest rate, with a 30-year term and minimum 5% down payment.
The Type I Forfeited Land Sale is available only to Veterans and the Type II Program is open to the general public. We provide our veterans with access to land, home and home improvement loans that allow them to own their very own piece of Texas.
