The VLB Veterans Land Loan Program is the only one of its kind in the nation—giving Texas Veterans and Military Members the opportunity to borrow money to purchase land at favorable interest rates and terms while only requiring a minimum 5% down payment. Learn More.
The VLB Land Sales are one way for Texas Veterans and Military Members to own a piece of Texas. The Texas Veterans Land Board makes tracts of land available for Texas Veterans and Military Members to bid on in our quarterly land sales held every January, April, July, and October.
The VLB Veterans Land Loan Program is the only one of its kind in the nation, giving Texas Veterans and Military Members the opportunity to borrow up to $150,000 to purchase land at competitive interest rates while typically requiring a minimum five percent down payment for tracts of one acre or more.
The Texas Veterans Land Board offers benefits to Texas Veterans, Military Members and their families. Since the days of the Republic, Texas has always supported its Veterans in return for their military service.
Spurred by returning World War II veterans, the Legislature established the Texas Veterans Land Board (VLB) in 1946 to continue this tradition by providing Texas veterans with long-term, low-interest land loans. Today, the VLB oversees five veterans programs.
