The correct aspect ratio for a profile picture is 4:3. This means the width should be 4/3 of the height. For instance, 400x300, 600x450, 604x453, etc. If you make your image square, you will notice some slight distortion when your image is stretched or shrunk to fit in the profile picture area.

18 Νοε 2020 · Profile picture display doesn't have universal dimensions. Web profiles (my.secondlife.com, official viewer) have 1:1 aspect ratio. Classic profiles (old-style interface, Firestorm, etc) are displayed in 218x155 resolution, or about 44:31 aspect ratio.
1 Ιουν 2023 · Yes, you could try 1024 x 1024 but some people get impatient for a photo of that size to rez. Try it a larger size and see how fast your photo loads for friends. If your 1024 x 1024 doesn't load fast, I can tell you that 512 x 512 usually looks pretty darn good for a profile pic.
