10 Απρ 2022 · I've got the 5GHz band set to transmit at channel 100+106 (VHT80) and set the TX Power to 30 dBm. However it is not going past 24 dBm. Regulatory domain is Canada.

This setting is critical for proper, smooth, fast Wi-Fi performance. 2x2:2 routers will either have TX/RX chains at 1+2/1+2, 1+3/1+3, 1+2/1+3, or 1+3/1+2. This can take some time to find the proper setting but its worth it, you can more easily find the correct setting by using a 802.11n client thats capable of 300 Mbps link.
24 dBm TX power with a 6 dBi gain antenna has an EIRP of 30 dBm. Maximum EIRP varies by nation and your max TX power will be capped by the regulatory domain if you have a powerful radio.
You can configure most DD-WRT capable routers as a simple 4 or 5 port switch. A switch is similar to a hub in that all devices connected to it will be in the same broadcast domain and can communicate freely with each other. The configuration is nearly identical to that of a Wireless Access Point.
26 Μαρ 2020 · When I first installed DDWRT (Default 71 TX) I was getting speeds of 25-60Mbps right in front of my AP. Not until I messed around with the TX, did it improve. Seeing a range between 1 - 1000mW it’s very tempting to put it as close as possible to 1000mW, or at least closer than 300mW.
11 Αυγ 2022 · Yes. You’re good. It’s likely at most 100mW of radiation that is non-ionizing. If it were, say 8 watts, I’d be more worried. But the maximum transmission power is the US is capped at 1000mW which I don’t think is likely for a TP-Link device even if you’re running DDWRT
