The Toscano Family Ice Forum is a state-of-the-art 2,600-seat ice hockey arena on the Storrs campus, home of UConn men's and women's ice hockey teams. The arena opened in January 2023.
23 Μαΐ 2022 · The building is little more than a metal frame — closer to a 3D blueprint than a functional hockey arena. A healthy dose of imagination is required to visualize what the rink will look like.
After passing through a lobby filled with images of the UConn’s hockey programs past and present student athletes will find state of the art facilities to rival any D1 program. Each team has a complete locker suite with lounge and dining areas, changing rooms, wet areas, and locker rooms.
3 Απρ 2024 · Unlike anything offered on campus before, the project thoughtfully employs design features and amenities reflecting the character of the district, while the building form and interior elements pull inspiration from the energy and dynamic nature of ice hockey.
20 Σεπ 2022 · In the spectator bowl, seating will consist of 80% with seatbacks and 20% on benches. The new facility will also have a large center-hung display scoreboard with perimeter ribbon boards, designed to create an outstanding experience for fans with state-of-the-art sound and lighting features. Replacing UConn’s outdated existing rink, the new arena is designed to meet NCAA Division I ice hockey requirements. The new center features two locker rooms – a “wet” locker room for all hockey gear, and a “dry” locker room for all other items.
