Study Sign-Up and Cancelling Appointments. Once you are logged in to the system, to find out what studies are available, go to the “Study Sign-Up” section. Studies may vary in their availability across the quarter.

Sona is an online scheduling system used to record your research participation credit. You will go to the Sona website to find out what studies are being offered in a given quarter and use the site to sign up for studies.
Go to the UC San Diego Sona site. You will arrive at the Sona home page, and on this page, click on the option at the lower left that says “New Participant? Request an account here.” Fill out the account information on that page. You will create your own with your UC San Diego email account.
The Sona System provides an easy method for you to sign up for studies, and track your progress throughout the term. Everything is done through the software’s web-based interface, so you can access the system at any time, from any computer, with a standard web browser.
After you click Sign Up, you will see information displayed confirming the time and location of the study you plan to participate in, and you can then choose to complete your sign-up. You may receive an email confirmation as well, depending on how your system is configured.
