Students have an opportunity to waive out of the program, reinstate benefits, enroll/drop dependents by submitting the appropriate online forms before the Enrollment Period Deadline Date at the beginning of each semester.
If you do not wish to remain enrolled in CampusCare, you may waive out of the program by providing proof of your private insurance coverage that meets UIC and State of Illinois requirements. Please visit the CampusCare website for details on waiver deadlines and requirements .
Students with comparable health insurance coverage, for example through a legal guardian or an employer, can waive out of the program by submitting the online Waiver Form before the Enrollment Period Deadline Date.

In general, UIC-paid exchange visitors become eligible for UIC benefits after two full calendar years in J-1 status. If you are enrolled in a health insurance policy through your employment at UIC, you can download your “Confirmation of Benefits” statement at the MyBenefits website .
