Email Address: Your University of Michigan email address (e.g., uniqname@umich.edu). Account Type: IMAP. Incoming mail server: imap.gmail.com.
The most common University of Michigan email format is [first_initial][last] (ex. jdoe@umich.edu), which is being used by 48.5% of University of Michigan work email addresses.
The most common Google email format is [first_initial][last] (ex. jdoe@google.com), which is being used by 63.9% of Google work email addresses. Other common Google email patterns are [first][last_initial] (ex. janed@google.com) and [first][last] (ex. janedoe@google.com).
(Michigan Medicine has elected not to use Mail or Calendar.) Important: Google restricts access to some of its business services in certain countries or regions. Refer to International Access to U-M IT Resources for more information on which countries and regions are restricted.
This document provides instructions for doing that in Google Mail at U-M. First, you need to find the emails, then label them, then send them as attachments.
Go to your email client and start/compose a new email message and hit ⌘ + V (or control + V for Windows) to ‘paste’ the template in the body of your new email; Edit the text as you see fit and send!
