10 Απρ 2015 · The uncanny valley could be understood as the naïve claim that any kind of human-likeness manipulation will lead to experienced negative affinity at close-to-realistic levels.
1 Μαρ 2023 · The Uncanny Valley (UV) theory predicts that imperfectly human-like artificial agents elicit negative reactions in perceivers. While to date most studies investigating the UV have been behavioral, there is a growing number of neuroscientific studies that hold the potential of shedding light on the automatic processes related to the UV.
8 Νοε 2019 · The Uncanny Valley (UV) refers to the phenomenon that people rate more positively as robots become more humanlike, but only up to a certain point; as it approaches near-perfect similarity of human appearance, likeability drops and forms an uncanny valley.
16 Νοε 2012 · A well known example is the ‘uncanny valley’ effect whereby a near human-looking artifact can trigger feelings of eeriness and repulsion.
Uncanny valley refers to humans’ negative reaction to almost-but-not-quite-human agents. Theoretical work proposes prediction violation as an explanation for uncanny valley but no empirical work has directly tested it. Here, we provide evidence that supports this theory using event-related brain potential recordings from the human scalp.
1 Ιουλ 2019 · Scientists have identified mechanisms in the human brain that could help explain the phenomenon of the ‘Uncanny Valley’ – the unsettling feeling we get from robots and virtual agents that are too human-like. They have also shown that some people respond more adversely to human-like agents than others.
28 Οκτ 2016 · Mori [42] illustrated the uncanny valley effect by drawing a valley of eeriness in a graph that otherwise depicts a positive relation between human likeness and affinity. A similar curve approximated ratings of a large sample of real-world robots, though with considerable variance (\ (R^2_ {\mathrm {adj}}=.29\)) [36].
