The prior approval form is an agreement between the University and the student to establish in advance the number of credits to be accepted in transfer, and the General Education, Discovery and/or major requirement satisfied by the course, provided the student completes the contracted course.
Students who are interested in taking coursework a t another institution should complete a Transfer Credit Prior Approval form. This is the only official system to have courses reviewed for potential credit transfer.
The Transfer Credit Evaluation System (TES) is an interactive resource for course data and transfer articulation. Students can use the resource to research how courses at other institutions have transferred into the University of New Hampshire.
Current students must submit the Transfer Credit Prior Approval Form to the Registrar's Office for an initial review. Students will then obtain both their academic advisor and Dean's signature on the form.

CREDIT TRANSFER. A maximum of 12 credits taken by a student prior to matriculation (internal and external combined) can be applied to a degree program. Transfer credits must be formally approved and appear on the UNH transcript to count towards the degree requirements.
