Gunrock is the official mascot of the UC Davis Aggies, the athletic teams that represent the University of California, Davis, and was based on Gunrock (1914–1932), an American Thoroughbred stallion, and the son of English Triple Crown winner Rock Sand. [2]

30 Νοε 2016 · Gunrock has a new look — and it is fierce. The beloved Aggie mascot, a brilliant blue mustang, became official in 2003, when students chose him by 98 percent of the vote (he’s named after the military breeding horse Gun Rock that stayed at UC Davis from 1921 to 1931).
23 Νοε 2022 · Gunrock is the official mascot of the UC Davis Aggies. He is named after Gun Rock, who was born in 1914 and was the offspring of English Triple Crown winner Rock Sand and race mare Gunfire. His bloodlines are similar to those of racehorse Man O' War.
