Highly disagree. About 90% of the freshman class commutes from home. UT Austin, majority of the students LIVE in the area around campus even if they live "off campus". They're not commuting from their parents homes or neighborhoods far away from campus. There is a student vibe that really is absent from UH

UH offers over 250 undergraduate and graduate degree programs across a wide range of disciplines, including business, engineering, education, health, law and the arts.
Residents must be enrolled full time in courses at the University of Houston in order to live in campus housing. Exceptions for low or non-enrollment must be submitted in writing via the myHousing portal or email to housing@uh.edu
If you can demonstrate academic excellence and leadership, you may qualify for a UH scholarship at the University of Houston. Information on University Funded Merit Scholarships for incoming freshmen and transfer students, as well as all other types of scholarship opportunities for UH students can be found below.
I love living on campus, my first semester I had 3 roommates who were awesome people and that really helped. I know live alone, and I have total freedom and I think it's the best thing for me!
