M.D. Degree Requirements. The degree of Doctor of Medicine is awarded by the medical faculty of the University of Kansas to a student who has satisfactorily completed the medical school curriculum. The student must also pass Steps 1 and 2 (Clinical Knowledge and Clinical Skills) of the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE).
The requirements for application to the KU School of Medicine include a bachelor's degree from an approved, accredited four-year college or university. Specific classes are also required.
