Contact USA North 811 at least two working days before you start your project. Wait for the utility partners to respond or locate their utilities. Confirm all utility partners on your ticket have responded and your start time has passed. Dig safely around your site and respect the utility markings.
Underground facility owners need to know that you will not be using hand tools to determine the exact location of lines in conflict with your excavation. See California government Code 4216.1 for more information.
30 Μαΐ 2024 · 811 is a free, nationwide number that you should always call before you start any digging project. Remember, it can take a few business days for the locates to be completed. You may even want to look into local and state laws for how many days you need to wait before excavation.
Anytime you plan to disturb a ground surface—whether by digging, drilling, boring, etc.—you must call 811 and coordinate with either the Northern or Southern California regional notification center at least two working days (but not more than 14 calendar days) before beginning your project.
