I want USL to provide competitive professional first team minutes as sustainably possible. There needs to be levels of professional development for young and veteran players. I don't want a strictly development league like MLSNP.

The gist is that Queensboro, Buffalo, Des Moines, Monterey, Pawtucket/Rhode Island, Baltimore, and Milwaukee are on the docket for the USL Championship. For League One, Manchester, Fort Wayne, Portland (Maine), and Spokane are clear targets, with a possibility of expanding into Athens, Columbia, Huntsville, Lexington, Fayetteville/Lexington ...

USL seems poised to do it internally, which will really set it apart from MLS, create drama for compelling televised matches, and attract viewers from MLS. With a USL team being about a $10 uber ride away (well to a cool brewery to pre-game and then walk) I'm all for this.
I can't recall an in-league trade before but it may have happened, most roster moves are moving to different teams in free agency, international transfers, or USL Championship guys loaning players out.
