30 Οκτ 2023 · Developmentally, the uterine artery is thought to be a female equivalent to the artery to ductus deferens in the male. The uterine artery passes inferiorly and medially across the floor of the pelvis and above the ureter, travelling within the broad ligament of the uterus.

4 Σεπ 2023 · The right uterine artery is a branch of the right anterior division of the internal iliac artery. The uterine artery courses from lateral to the medial direction through the bottom part of the broad ligament also called the cardinal ligament.
The uterine artery usually arises from the anterior division of the internal iliac artery. It travels to the uterus, crossing the ureter anteriorly, to the uterus by traveling in the cardinal ligament. [1] It travels through the parametrium of the inferior broad ligament of the uterus.
In two cases there were two uterine arteries: in the first of these one arose from the hypogastric trunk (internal iliac), and the other arose from the anterior division; in the second, one arose with the inferior vesical, and the other with the middle rectal.
The uterine artery arises from the anterior division of the internal iliac artery and runs medialward on the Levator ani and toward the cervix uteri; about 2 cm from the cervix it crosses above and in front of the ureter, to which it supplies a small branch.
