Grades reported in this range are converted by the Office of the University Registrar to 0.0. Numerical grades may be considered equivalent to letter grades as follows: Lowest passing grade. Academic failure. No credit earned.
If grades seemed to come out too low last time, lower the top end of the scale if there do not seem to be enough 4.0 grades; lower the bottom end of the scale if too many people seem to be failing the class. If grades seemed to come out too high last time, adjust the cut-off percentage for a 4.0 upwards (e.g. change from 95% to 98%)
The UW uses a numerical grading system. At the undergraduate level, instructors may report grades from 4.0 to 0.7 in 0.1 increments and the grade 0.0. The grade 0.0 is assigned for failing work or if a student does not officially withdraw. Grades in the range 0.6 to 0.1 may not be assigned.
