I discuss the differences between the Russian Vaganova system and the RAD system of studying ballet from my own experience taking lessons.

Vaganova doubles a lot of steps that RAD doesn't. Cambres backwards are upper back focused in English ballet and use your mid and lower back too in Vaganova. On the whole, ballet is ballet is ballet.
RAD feels like you're hugging a ghost half the time. It might be my perception but I feel fingers are also a bit more natural and almost more flowy than in RAD. Vaganova is also less about emphasis on the demi pointe, not as obsessed with the rolling through because this roll is faster than in other styles.
