21 Φεβ 2024 · You can take a peek at the recently renovated Val Air Ballroom during a special open house from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday. To accompany the ribbon-cutting, the local bass player Jon Locker hopes to break a world record for cranking up the most guitar amplifiers at the same time.
This seemingly useless concrete slab and unfinished factory would become a true gem of West Des Moines. The Val Air Ballroom opened in June of 1918. Initially it was an open-air dance hall, meaning it was almost completely open to the elements, more of an outdoor dance hall than anything else.

16 Ιαν 2024 · The ballroom is set to reopen on Leap Day, Feb. 29, and kick off its new life with a week of high-profile concerts. Val Air veterans will spot familiar features, such as the centerpiece 72-by-140-foot maple dance floor and the giant flashy disco ball dangling high above.
While Val Air Ballroom is standing room only, there are first come first serve seating options available. If a show is fully or partially seated, selection options will be provided upon purchase at axs.com
