NON-OPERATIVE GUIDELINES. The following guidelines for the non-operative management of medial collateral ligament (MCL) sprains of the knee were developed by HSS Rehabilitation. They are divided into four phases dependent on patient presentation and grade of the sprain (grade I-3).
