When overhauling any software with such a large following, the maxim you can’t please everyone is always prevalent; this is often especially true of freeware.

I like the idea of the Pro version and loading it up as a VST, but the price difference between the Free and Pro versions seems... stark? Does it include any of the other paid first-party modules, like Chords or Scalar?
I'm interested in starting out soon with virtual modular. I'm wondering what the benefits of vcv rack 2 pro are in comparison to Cardinal (vcv rack fork). I understand there are more module options, plus the library which offers much more but I don't know beyond that.
