Easiest cheapest swap will be an aircooled VW engine, can usually find a running one for $800 - $1200. Anything else will require modification and some fab work, here's a breakdown of a Subaru swap which is one of the more common non-ACVW engine swaps -- it's still a lot of work. Is this a 'for fun' car or do you need it to be a reliable daily?
18 Ιαν 2006 · There are several different kits out there to do that. Some are absolute crap, and some are very nice, so do your homework. As mentioned earlier, the old Subaru flat-4 is a very popular swap, especially with the Bus crowd. They've proven themselves to be VERY reliable, make more power stock, and can be turbocharged with good success.
