Venus, Mars and Earth, three out of the four inner or ‘rocky’ planets of the Solar System, have a lot in common – a solid surface you could walk on, a comparable surface composition, an atmosphere and a weather system. If you are looking for a twin sister to Earth, that would be Venus... or is it?
Find Venus in the sky using our online planetarium web application.
This page shows Venus location and other relevant astronomical data in real time. The celestial coordinates, magnitude, distances and speed are updated in real time and are computed using high quality data sets provided by the JPL Horizons ephemeris service (see acknowledgements for details).
15 Μαΐ 2023 · Venus’ atmosphere is only made of about 3% of Nitrogen, while Earth’s atmosphere is about 78% Nitrogen. However, because Venus’ atmosphere is 90 times denser, that means the atmospheres of both planets actually have almost the same quantity of Nitrogen.
