The movie reveals Neptune's dynamic weather: white clouds of methane ice crystals swirling around the planet and two giant dark spots churning in the northern hemisphere.
What is retrograde? The planets move from west to east across the night sky. All the planets travel in the same direction around the Sun, and if you imagine a spot above the Earth’s north pole, they would be seen to travel anticlockwise. Anticlockwise motion is the ‘normal’ (more common) motion and is known as ‘prograde’.
