Virginia Overtime Wage Act. Beginning July 1, Virginia employers will be subject to the Virginia Overtime Wage Act (“Overtime Act”), which adds new state overtime pay requirements. Previously, Virginia employers applied the overtime pay requirements of the federal Fair Labor Standards Act (“FLSA”), 29 U.S.C. § 201, et seq.
1 Ιουλ 2022 · Under the revised law set to take effect on July 1, 2022, Virginia will now calculate overtime based on a regular rate (i.e., by dividing compensation by the hours the compensation was intended to cover, rather than a flat 40 hours).
