Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Sound. Your audio devices are listed there, and the HDMI device has been set to default when you plugged the HDMI device in. Change the your standard output to the default. Now restart chrome, and it should work.
21 Δεκ 2022 · Chrome's sound doesn't work for various reasons, including faulty audio hardware, muted websites, sound settings turned off in the browser, muted browser sound in Windows volume mixer, outdated sound drivers, issues with extensions, or a piled-up cache and cookies.
It's obviously not a connection issue since everything works as it should through the app, but I can't find a setting in Chrome to send audio through the HDMI connection. I've restarted my laptop/TV/and chrome browser multiple times hoping that would resolve the problem but that hasn't worked.

9 Αυγ 2015 · I used a hdmi cable to broadcast some youtube content to my tv (using chrome). I had to change the sound output from "speakers" to "hdmi" to have it on the tv. Now, there is no sound on my computer only when I use chrome, and in the output choices I only have "speakers".
