Visual communication is the use of visual elements convey ideas and information which include (but are not limited to) signs, typography, drawing, graphic design, illustration, industrial design, advertising, animation, and electronic resources. [1]
In the study of the biological sciences, biocommunication is any specific type of communication within (intraspecific) or between (interspecific) species of plants, animals, fungi, [1] protozoa and microorganisms. [2] Communication means sign -mediated interactions following three levels of rules (syntactic, pragmatic and semantic).
As such, there is a need to integrate ecology into the primarily evolutionary concept of communication theory in order to understand the evolutionary dynamics and diversity of communication systems.
