Practice Lab. OUR PRACTICE VERSION OF oNLINE SOFTWARE. Practice Lab is available 24/7-365 so you can go in and get used to the software, enter scenarios for fun or to enter scenarios for the certification tests. There are a few ways to access the practice lab.

The Practice Lab is a tool available through Link & Learn Taxes at https://vita.taxslayerpro. com/IRSTraining or at www.irs.gov. After completing this topic, you will be able to: 1. Navigate to the Practice Lab. 2. Create a Practice Lab login. 3. Retrieve a lost user name. 4. Reset a password. 5. Start a return in Practice Lab. TaxSlayer provides an environment in which you can prepare training returns.
Volunteers should wait until the software is updated with 2023 figures and tax law changes (usually mid-November) before preparing any return preparation scenarios in the test, as test answers are based on current year amounts. A universal password will be needed to access the Practice Lab.
The Practice Lab is a tax software simulation of TaxSlayer which allows hands-on practice in preparing tax returns. You will need to use Practice Lab to complete tax returns to answer some of the test questions.
