Solarban® 60 solar control, low-e glass by Vitro Architectural Glass (formerly PPG Glass) was engineered to control solar heat gain, which is essential to minimizing cooling costs.
The advanced low-e coating of Solarban® 60 glass transmits more than 70% of the sun’s available light into a home while blocking 79% of the sun’s damaging UV energy and other contributors to fading—in all, 24% better than standard clear insulating glass.
Solarban® 60: Solarban® 60 glass is a mid-range MSVD solar control low-e glass. Though the coating is transparent (on clear or Starphire® Ultra-Clear glass), it can also be paired with, or applied directly on most Vitro tinted glasses in an insulating glass unit.
The window with Solarban® 60 (2) glass transmits almost 90% as much desirable visible light as standard clear insulating glass. Provides exterior appearance similar to clear glass. Provides glare control in bright, sunny climates. Fading Factors.
While Solarban 60 (3)(5) glass blocks 93% of damaging UV energy, it also blocks other contributors to fading — in all, 40% better than standard clear insulating glass.
