20 Ιουλ 2023 · You can configure a virtual machine with ESXi 7.0 Update 1 and later compatibility to have up to 768 virtual CPUs. A virtual machine cannot have more virtual CPUs than the actual number of logical CPUs on the host. The number of logical CPUs means the number of physical processor cores or two times that number if hyperthreading is enabled.
20 Ιουλ 2023 · The maximum number of virtual CPUs that you can assign to a virtual machine is 768. The number of virtual CPUs depends on the number of logical CPUs on the host, and the type of guest operating system that is installed on the virtual machine. Be aware of the following limitations:
31 Μαΐ 2019 · You can add, change, or configure CPU resources to improve virtual machine performance. You can set most of the CPU parameters when you create virtual machines or after the guest operating system is installed.

When selecting hardware, it is a good idea to consider CPU compatibility for VMware vSphere ® vMotion™ (which in turn affects DRS, DPM, and other features) and VMware Fault Tolerance. See “VMware vMotion and Storage vMotion” on page 73, “VMware Distributed Resource Scheduler (DRS)”
13 Φεβ 2014 · 29. I am trying to find some documentation or best practice guides for virtualization with respect to provisioning vCPUs per physical core (of a CPU). If it matters, I am looking at vmWare for the virtualization implementation. For example, an Intel Xeon CPU may have 4, 8, etc. cores.
9 Μαρ 2017 · Using virtualization, we have all enjoyed the flexibility to quickly create virtual machines with various virtual CPU (vCPU) configurations for a diverse set of workloads.
