What is the VOC Scale? The VOC Scale, or Validity of Cognition Scale, is an essential component of EMDR therapy, helping therapists and clients assess the believability of positive cognitive statements. The VOC Scale measures the perceived truth of positive beliefs on a scale from 1 (completely false) to 7 (completely true).

The way we know this is by using two different scales; the Subjective Units of Disturbance Scale (SUDS) and the other is the Validity of Cognition Scale (VOC). The SUDS helps us measure your level of disturbance or discomfort with your problem and the VOC helps us evaluate how close you are to your goal.
