Mount Rainier is an active volcano located in the southeast of Seattle, Washington. It last erupted in 1894. It is a part of the Cascade Range and also the highest mountain in Washington with a height of 13,211 feet. This range is a long stretch of volcanic mountains around 800 miles. The mountain is believed to be 500,000 years old.

More than 25 glaciers descend the flanks of the volcano, which is often shrouded in clouds that dump enormous amounts of rain and snow.

Mount Rainier is a 14,410-foot- (4,392-meter-) high active volcano whose last eruption was more than 100 years ago. The park covers 369 square miles (957 square kilometers). The peak of Mount Rainier was sculpted by ice, and some two dozen named glaciers and a number of smaller patches of permanent ice and snow remain around the summit area.
