This image, acquired by one of the Copernicus Sentinel-2 satellites on 22 May 2021, shows the Stromboli volcano in eruption. Stromboli is a volcano in the Aeolian Islands north of Sicily, Italy. On 19 May, an eruption caused a high column of ash, the ejection of incandescent lapilli and a strong outflow of lava.
