5 Φεβ 2018 · Changed the oil on my 2004 4.3L GXI-E this weekend. First time doing it myself and thought I would just share a couple quick tips for anyone with a similar engine. You need 5 quarts of oil. To get the oil out, you will need a pump. I chose a hand pump by Jabsco that screws on to the dipstick.
1 Ιουλ 2006 · The Volvo Service Manual for 1997 "LK" Models ( which are both of ours) specifies SAE 30W oils that meet General Motors Standard GM-6094-M for operation above 32' F. It also says the use of multi-viscosity oils (such as 10W-30) is not recommended.

19 Μαΐ 2013 · My owner's manual says that to change the oil in my Volvo Penta engine I simply have to remove the dipstick and then the top of where the dipstick came out of is an adapter so you can use a manual or electric oil pump "from any marina" in order to suck the oil out of the engine rather than drain it from the bottom.

With a new or reconditioned engine, the oil and oil filters must be changed after 20–50 hours of operation. Use only the recommended grades of oil, see below. IMPORTANT!
