On 15 June 2020, Wago was acquired by Method. On 23 February 2021, Wago expanded to add support for hosting AddOns on the site along with a new app for AddOn management. In February 2022, Wago partnered up with WowUp, allowing WowUp's manager to manage and auto-update AddOns available from Wago.
tl;dr CurseForge standalone client and WowUp with the Wago.io provider. Add-on managers are the most convenient and fastest way to install and keep your add-ons updated. However, it might be confusing for new players to find which app is the most suitable for them.
