29 Απρ 2024 · The Waimea Canyon drive is one of the most scenic driving routes in Kauai. Two roads lead into the park from the south, and we suggest taking one route in and the other out, so you can experience both routes on your visit!
Waimea Canyon Drive is on the right just past mile marker 23. The road travels through the canyon area and ends at Puu o Kila Lookout. Makaha Ridge Road runs off Waimea Canyon Road just before mile marker 14 and travels to more scenic lookouts.
This magnificent scenic drive traces the entire length of Waimea Canyon’s western rim and continues into Kokeʻe State Park, climbing 19 miles from the coast to Puʻu o Kila Lookout. Starting from Waimea's visitor center as Waimea Canyon Dr, it meets Kokeʻe Rd after 8 miles, and takes its name.
Waimea Canyon State Park overlooks of one of the State’s scenic treasures – the deep, colorful gorge of Waimea Canyon. The park consists of a scenic drive, lookouts of the canyon, a viewpoint of Ni‘ihau Island, wildland picnicking and trails.
