Walker Lake Recreation Area 15 miles north of Hawthorne Nevada offers multiple primitive campsites on the shore of the lake. Sportsman’s Beach offers 40 sites, tables, vault toilets, fire rings, and a boat launch.

There are three major camping areas; Sportsman's Beach which has 32 campsites available for RV's and tent camping, Twenty Mile Beach, and Tamarack Beach which both offer primitive camping for tent and RV use. Plenty of recreation activities are available on the lake from water-skiing, motorized boating, swimming and paddling.
WALKER LAKE STATE PARK. Walker Lake is one of the last remnants of an ancient inland sea which covered much of western Nevada nearly 10,000 years ago. Visitors enjoy fishing, boating, swimming and picnicking, plus facilities at the park include shade ramadas, tables and grills along a sandy beach.
