Born in London in 1861, Walter Hunt, an artist best known as an outstanding animal painter, rose to relative prominence in England for his portrayals of dogs, horses, and calves and for his intricate attention to detail and color.
Walter Hunt. British 1861 - 1941. Walter Hunt was an animal painter. He was the son of Charles Hunt and probably the brother of Edgar Hunt. All three were animal painters and they all lived in Warwickshire.
So, too, was Walter Hunt an animal painter, best known for his paintings of farmyard scenes. He began painting when he was thirteen years old. Hunt lived in Wandsworth, South West London.
