22 Σεπ 2024 · The DC Metro Senior Pass is a special fare card designed for passengers aged 65 and older, offering significant discounts on Metrorail and Metrobus services. This pass, known as the Senior SmarTrip Card, provides reduced fares and can be used just like a regular SmarTrip card.
18 Αυγ 2024 · Base Fares: Weekday travel during peak hours (5:00 AM – 9:30 PM) sees adult fares at $3.90, while off-peak and weekend/holiday rides drop to a more wallet-friendly $1.35. Seniors, disabled individuals, and children (5-11 years) enjoy discounted fares, while little ones under 5 ride for free.

Up to two children under age five may travel free with a paying customer. Fares are based on when and how far you ride. Station-to-station fares are located on station manager kiosks and FARECARDS & PASSES machines. The machines accept credit and debit cards.
Metro custoners who are age 65 years and older automatically qualify for reduced fares whether or not they have a disability. Senior citizens can purchase a Senior SmarTrip card by showing a valid photo ID with proof of age at any Metro sales office, commuter store, or other selected retail outlet.
