A fermenter is a reactor or unit process found on site at a wastewater treatment plant in which complex particulate and soluble substrates present in the sludge and wastewater are anaerobically broken down to form volatile fatty acids (VFAs) through acid fermentation.
Fermentation waste can be processed as the primary waste treatment by anaerobic digestion, producing methane gas that can be captured and used for heating dryers in downstream processing or electrical generation.
In almost all fermentation processes the fermenter configuration plays the part of a mediator between energy input variables and physiological reactions of microbial cultures. As microbial behaviour vary widely, it is difficult to design a versatile fermenter for multipurpose use.
15 Σεπ 2023 · The processing and application status of fermentation raw materials such as waste activated sludge, food waste, microalgae and crude glycerol are investigated. To analyse the status of the preparation and engineering applications of the products, the fermentation products biohydrogen, VFAs, biogas, ethanol, succinic acid, lactic acid, and ...
26 Μαρ 2021 · Fermentation techniques, particularly, solid-state fermentation (SSF) is a widely researched and effective procedure for the bioconversion of agro-industrial food waste, which produces...
The fermentation process in which organic material is degraded and biogas (composed of mainly methane and carbon dioxide) is produced, is referred to as anaerobic
