Also called water pressure regulators, water pressure reducing valves are compact, inexpensive valves that perform two functions: They automatically reduce the high incoming water pressure from the city mains to provide a lower, more functional pressure for distribution in the home.
Pressure Reducing Automatic Control Valves. Size(s): 11⁄4" – 16". Reduce high inlet pressure to constant, lower outlet pressure across a broad range of flow rates. Valves can be installed in parallel or series configurations for extended flow range or staged pressure reduction.
Install Valve in the line with arrow on valve body pointing in the direction of flow. This valve should be installed where it is accessible with suf-ficient clearance for cleaning, service or adjustment. Install the reducing valve, when possible, before the sill cock line as shown in diagram.
The water pressure reducing valve automatically reduces the pressure from the water supply main to a lower, more sensible pressure. Water entering the valve from municipal mains is constricted within the valve body and directed through the inner chamber; this inner chamber is controlled by an adjustable spring-loaded diaphragm and disc.
