debate Communication, rhetoric, argumentation, and debate are related concepts. Starting with communication and proceeding to debate, the concepts become progressively narrowed. By beginning with the broadest concept, communication, and ending at the narrowest, debate, I intend to show how all these terms are interrelated.
In an effort to address rising polarization in the United States, BP debate is offered as a way to teach, and practice, collaboration. The paper explores the ways these skills are used by debaters and critics throughout the debate round, looking specifically at cooperation and consensus as tools to achieve collaboration.
