Here are some materials to help the new, improving, or experienced judge. Do not worry about your level of experience with speech and debate or with judging--the WBFL believes that our students benefit from having to adapt to judges with a diversity of backgrounds and different degrees of experience.
A successful debate program depends on many factors, but having the right people serving as judges makes every debate really exciting and rewarding. Not only are good judges important for managing the flow of the debate but they also provide much of the educational value for the event through their decision-making and feedback.

Why debate? By preparing for and participating in debates, pupils learn to find and use information to support their arguments. They also learn how to present their ideas clearly and persuasively.
DEBATE WALL. 2023-2024. To make the WALL OF CHAMPIONS, a student must go undefeated at a league debate tournament or qualify for the state tournament. To make the list of DEBATERS OF DISTINCTION, a student must have only one loss at a league debate tournament.
