18 Ιουν 2024 · Cases of West Nile have been reported in states across the continental United States. West Nile virus activity typically occurs during the summer months and into the fall. The annual number of reported West Nile cases can fluctuate widely, as a result of periodic epidemics.

10 Ιουν 2024 · As of 31 May 2023, European Union, European Economic Area and EU-neighbouring countries have reported 1 339 locally acquired human cases of West Nile virus infection, including 104 deaths, in 2022. This is the highest reported number of locally acquired cases since the peak epidemic year 2018.
Eight (8) deaths were recorded, concerning patients with WNV disease older than 69 years of age (median age of the deceased= 79 years), with underlying diseases. Table 1.
