Charcoal pencils offer a practical and clean way to draw with charcoal. They consist of powdered and compressed charcoal encased in wood for protection. Compared to charcoal sticks, charcoal pencils are much easier to sharpen, as they contain a binding agent that makes the charcoal less brittle.
