Element 103 in the periodic table is called lawrencium. It was first synthesised in 1961 at what was then called the Lawrence Radiation Laboratory, situated close to San Francisco. The synthesis was carried out by a team of scientists led by Albert Ghiorso.
Lawrencium is predicted to be reactive towards oxygen and air. It will also react with hot water and acids [3]. Significance and Uses. Lawrencium is used for research purposes. Health Effects. Lawrencium is a radioactive element and requires special precautions with handling and storage. Isotopes of Lawrencium
Chemistry experiments confirm that lawrencium behaves as a heavier homolog to lutetium in the periodic table, and is a trivalent element. It thus could also be classified as the first of the 7th-period transition metals.
Introduction. - Lawrencium is a synthetic, radioactive element with the atomic number 103. - Due to its highly unstable and radioactive nature, lawrencium has no practical applications and is primarily used for research purposes.
21 Νοε 2023 · On the periodic table, the lawrencium element is represented by the chemical symbol Lr. This element has an atomic number of 103, which refers to the number of protons in its atom.
28 Φεβ 2024 · The final element in the actinide series is lawrencium. On the periodic table, it lies to the left of rutherfordium and to the right of nobelium. It is silvery in appearance. The density of lawrencium is 16gm/cm 3. It is the heaviest element among the actinide series.
27 Απρ 2024 · Due to its radioactivity and instability, lawrencium’s use is restricted to research purposes, aiding in the expansion of knowledge concerning the behavior of heavy elements and exploring the theoretical boundaries of the periodic table. Lawrencium Formula. Formula: Lr . Composition: Comprises a single lawrencium atom.
